A Modern, Interactive Website Redesign for Texture Hair Salon in Ottawa
When someone is looking for a new hair salon, the website plays a bigger role than you might think.
Before booking an appointment, potential clients want to see the salon. They want to see the quality of the work. They want to understand the services available, get a feel for the atmosphere and know that they’re putting their hair in the hands of professionals.
For Texture Hair Salon, the goal of the website redesign wasn’t simply to make the website look better.
We wanted the online experience to reflect the quality of the experience clients receive when they actually walk through the doors.
That meant completely rethinking the design, introducing interactive elements and animations, making information easier to find and even incorporating an AI chatbot that can answer questions directly on the website.
The result is a much more modern digital experience built around both the Texture brand and the people visiting the website.

The Goal: Transform Texture Hair Salon’s existing website into a modern, premium and interactive experience that better represents the salon while making it easier for potential clients to learn about the business and take the next step.
What Wasn’t Working With the Previous Texture Hair Salon Website?
Texture already had an established business and an existing website.
The problem was that the website didn’t fully communicate the experience of the salon.
For a business like a hair salon, that’s particularly important.
Someone who has never visited Texture before is forming an impression of the business before they ever step through the door.
The design of the website.
The photography.
The services.
The stylists.
How easy it is to find information.
How the website feels on a phone.
All of these small interactions contribute to one much bigger question:
Is this a salon I can trust with my hair?
The previous website gave visitors a way to learn about the business, but there was an opportunity to create something much more intentional, modern and engaging.
That’s where the redesign started.
Creating a Website That Matches the Salon Experience
One of the biggest priorities with the redesign was making the website actually feel like Texture Hair Salon.
A hair salon website shouldn’t feel like a generic local-business template.
It should communicate style.
It should communicate professionalism.
And it should give potential clients a glimpse into the experience they’re about to have.
The new Texture website uses a much more refined visual direction, stronger imagery, intentional typography and a cleaner layout to create an experience that feels premium without becoming difficult to navigate.
Rather than overwhelming visitors with information, the design gives each section room to breathe.
Visitors can quickly understand who Texture is, explore the salon’s services, learn more about the business and move toward booking.
Bringing the Website to Life With Animation
Modern website design isn’t only about what someone sees.
It’s also about how the website feels to use.
That’s why we incorporated animations and interactive details throughout the Texture Hair Salon website.
As visitors move through the site, different elements transition and animate into view.
These interactions help create a more polished experience and make the website feel alive rather than like a collection of static pages.
But animation should never exist just for the sake of animation.
Every interaction needs to complement the design rather than distract from it.
The goal was to find that balance.
Visually interesting without being overwhelming.
Modern without becoming difficult to use.
Interactive while still keeping the focus on Texture and its services.
Adding an AI Chatbot to Answer Client Questions
One of the most interesting additions to the new Texture Hair Salon website is its AI chatbot.
People visiting a salon website often have questions before they’re ready to book.
They may want to know about a particular service.
They might have a question about the salon.
They might be looking for specific information and don’t want to search through several different pages to find it.
Traditionally, they have two options:
Search through the website themselves or contact the salon and wait for an answer.
The AI chatbot introduces another option.
Visitors can simply ask their question directly on the website.
The chatbot is customized around Texture Hair Salon and can respond to relevant questions using information about the business.
That means the website isn’t simply presenting information anymore.
Visitors can actually interact with it.
And because the chatbot is available through the website, potential clients can get answers even when someone at the salon isn’t immediately available to respond.
Designing Around the Questions Potential Clients Actually Have
A good salon website needs to look beautiful.
But it also needs to be useful.
Throughout the redesign, we approached the website from the perspective of someone discovering Texture Hair Salon for the first time.
What services are available?
What does the salon look like?
Who will be doing my hair?
Is this the type of salon I’m looking for?
How do I book?
These are the questions that matter to the person actually using the website.
So instead of designing the site solely around what the business wanted to say, the structure was built around what a potential client would want to know.
That creates a much clearer journey:
Discover Texture → Explore the salon → Understand the services → Build trust → Get questions answered → Take the next step
Making the Mobile Experience Just as Important
For a hair salon, the mobile version of the website isn’t secondary.
It’s one of the most important versions of the website.
Someone might discover Texture through Google or social media and immediately visit the website from their phone.
If that experience is confusing, slow or difficult to navigate, a beautiful desktop website doesn’t matter very much.
The redesigned Texture website was therefore built to work across screen sizes, with layouts, spacing, navigation and interactive elements adapted for mobile devices.
The goal is simple:
Whether someone discovers Texture from their laptop at home or their phone while scrolling Instagram, the experience should still feel polished.
What Changed in the Texture Hair Salon Website Redesign?
The finished website is much more than a new coat of paint.
The redesign included:
- A completely redesigned visual experience
- A more premium and modern aesthetic
- Improved website navigation and content structure
- Interactive animations throughout the website
- A custom AI chatbot capable of answering visitor questions
- Clearer presentation of Texture’s services
- Stronger visual storytelling
- More intentional calls to action
- Improved mobile responsiveness
- A website experience designed around potential clients
- Clearer pathways toward booking and contacting the salon
The visual transformation is immediately noticeable.
But the bigger difference is what the website can now do.
It doesn’t simply tell someone about Texture Hair Salon.
It helps them experience the brand, find information, ask questions and move toward becoming a client.
The Website Before & After
This is where the transformation becomes especially clear.
Before
The previous website gave Texture Hair Salon an online presence, but there was an opportunity to better reflect the quality, personality and professionalism of the salon.
The experience was more traditional and static.
After
The redesigned website creates a much more modern and immersive experience.
The new design introduces stronger visual hierarchy, a premium aesthetic, animations, clearer pathways through the website and an AI-powered assistant capable of answering questions from potential clients.
The difference isn’t simply old versus new.
It’s the difference between having a website that exists online and having a website that actively contributes to the client experience.
A Website That Works Even When the Salon Is Closed
One of the things I like most about the finished Texture Hair Salon website is that it extends the salon experience beyond the physical location.
Someone can discover Texture late at night.
They can explore the salon.
Look through the services.
Learn about the business.
Get answers from the AI chatbot.
And figure out what they want to do next.
All without needing someone from the salon to immediately answer the phone or respond to a message.
That’s where websites for local businesses are heading.
A website shouldn’t simply be an online brochure.
It should be one of the hardest-working parts of the business.
A Digital Experience That Better Represents Texture Hair Salon
Ultimately, the goal of the redesign was to create a website that better reflects the business behind it.
Texture Hair Salon already provides a professional salon experience in Ottawa.
The website needed to communicate that same level of quality online.
The finished website feels modern without sacrificing usability.
Premium without feeling inaccessible.
Interactive without becoming distracting.
And technologically advanced without making the experience complicated.
From the visual redesign and animations to the AI chatbot answering client questions, every part of the website was built around creating a better experience for the person on the other side of the screen.
Because for many new clients, their first experience with Texture Hair Salon won’t happen when they walk through the salon doors.
